Party Games: Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

For those in search of something new to do with your friends:

Steel Crate Games is on to something big with Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, a puzzle game that somewhat bridges the gap between tabletop games and video games. In Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes one player acts as a bomb diffuser, and the other the bomb “expert”. The diffuser will be face to face with a procedurally generated bomb that is covered in multiple codes and puzzles, but the catch is that only the player acting as expert is equipped with the knowledge of how to solve the puzzles (a 21-page bomb manual).

You can view the instructions via the PS4, online, or print it out via PDF

So, while the diffuser wears the VR headset they are the only ones able to see the bomb, and the expert is the only one able to see the instructions on how to solve the puzzles on said bomb. The shenanigans and frantic screaming of instructions and puzzle descriptions make for an excellent party game with a small group of friends. The game only requires two people to play, which is fine, but the game shines most when played with 4-5 friends.

If you’re getting bored of the usual drinking games, board games, or Cards Against Humanity give Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes a shot. You and your friends wont regret it. I played on PlayStation VR, but it’s also available on other VR platforms as well as PC (which may be the cheapest alternative for the many who don’t yet own VR).
